CANVAS STRETCHING
At GJ CLONINGER and CO., we have experts who can stretch any type of canvas, new or old, on premises. Additionally, if you have a painting that is sagging or waving, we can restretch it.
The edges of the canvas are mounted onto stretcher bars with a high powered staple gun. The canvas is stretched around the wood bars with the use of a special canvas gripping tool that allows for a taught, but not overly stretched canvas. If you have a canvas to be restretched that is brittle or torn, refer to our art restoration section.
