OVERSIZED ART
Oversized art can present many challenges to a framer. Handling and fitting large framing jobs is an extra challenge and usually takes several people to complete a single task. Additionally, with oversized art work, the choices for mat colors, as well as glazing options are limited.
Though these jobs are challenging, we are dedicated to coming up with solutions so that the preferred design does not have to be sacrificed. With art work over 40 x 60 inches, the only mat option is white, however, in order to get the desired color, we have specialists on staff who can faux paint the mat to work with colors in the art.
If the oversized art to be framed needs glazing, Plexiglas is the recommended option. It is a shatterproof plastic material that looks just like regular glass. There is also an ultraviolet protective Plexiglas if the art will potentially fade due to light exposure. Please see the examples of oversized art that we have framed with creative design solutions.
